And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

About God's purpose for your life

This is from Max Lucado: It's easy to thank God when he does what we want. But God doesn't always do what we want. Ask Job. His empire collapsed, his children were killed, and what was a healthy body became a rage of boils. From whence came this torrent? From whence will come any help? Job goes straight to God and pleads his case. His head hurts. His heart hurts. And God answers. Not with answers, but with questions. An ocean of questions...After several dozen questions, Job is left on the beach drenched and wide-eyed. He has gotten the point. What is it? The point is this: God owes no one anything. No reasons. No explanations. Nothing. If he gave them, we couldn't understand them. God is God. He knows what he is doing. When you can't trace his hand, trust his heart.

This encouraging word is in "God's Inprirational Promise Book" by Max Lucado. I have been trying to find someting encouraging everyday to focus my mind on. This certainly fits in my life right now; indeed, when does it not fit? Help me Lord, to truly trust you more. Amen.

Piano Recital

Joceline, Alyssa & Jasmine have all been doing wonderfully well at their piano lessons. My Aunt Polly is their teacher, and we have lessons every other week. Joceline & Alyssa have been playing since July, and Jasmine started in late February. While all the girls enjoy playing, Jasmine especially has taken to this. She will practice without being told every day. She will also try to squeeze in some practicing before her van comes at 7:30 in the morning! And that's not easy to do since she gets up at 6:45! Joceline also loves to practice and seldom needs to be reminded to do so. Alyssa enjoys playing, but likes to play when she feels like it, not when I remind her to :). Even so, she is doing very well, too. Needless to say, our house is filled with music most days!

Hennings Family Time

This was our last outing at Hennings (at least for a while). Grandma & Grandaddy are just about ready to go to settlement, and head to Florida. We are so blessed to be part of the Kane family, and we know that God is with each of us, no matter where we live or where we go in life. We are also thankful that Grandma is feeling better everyday (even if it's just a little bit!), and that Uncle Phil is getting better too.

Grandparent's Day 2009

Here are some shots from Grandparent's Day at Joceline & Alyssa's school. They were both so excited that both Grandma & Grandaddy could make it.

More shots from the Franklin Institute

These are a few extra pictures from our trip in February to the Franklin Institute. The girls had such a great time; we will definitely be going again sometime.

Grandaddy is HOW OLD??? What a fun time with Grandma and Grandaddy, celebrating together. We are so glad Grandma is getting better, too.
