About God's purpose for your life

This is from Max Lucado: It's easy to thank God when he does what we want. But God doesn't always do what we want. Ask Job. His empire collapsed, his children were killed, and what was a healthy body became a rage of boils. From whence came this torrent? From whence will come any help? Job goes straight to God and pleads his case. His head hurts. His heart hurts. And God answers. Not with answers, but with questions. An ocean of questions...After several dozen questions, Job is left on the beach drenched and wide-eyed. He has gotten the point. What is it? The point is this: God owes no one anything. No reasons. No explanations. Nothing. If he gave them, we couldn't understand them. God is God. He knows what he is doing. When you can't trace his hand, trust his heart.

This encouraging word is in "God's Inprirational Promise Book" by Max Lucado. I have been trying to find someting encouraging everyday to focus my mind on. This certainly fits in my life right now; indeed, when does it not fit? Help me Lord, to truly trust you more. Amen.

  1. Settled on the house today and left PA later than we usually do and hit massive traffic from DC to Fredericksburg VA. We moved at a steady clip of about 5-10 MPH. Finally stopped in Dunn, NC about 1/2 hour ago. We tried Smithfield but they had no room - seems I have heard that one before too. Been a very long day - thanks for this. I took a picture of a double rainbow while we were still in VA and realized once again that the Lord has everything in control even when I feel things are spinning out of control. I will send you a copy. Love you guys.
