6th Grade Music Program

On May 12th was the 6th Grade Music Program, and Joceline had a solo. Here are some shots.
Daddy & Alyssa...

Joceline is the slightly fuzzy one on the right (not the one with pink in her hair). Her solo was from the song, Dig a Little Deeper, from Disney's recent movie, The Princess & The Frog.

Here is Joceline with the choir...Alyssa took this one!

And here is the entire 6th grade choir. They did an awesome show!

Braces for Joceline

So this week has been a busy one. Both Joceline & Jasmine need braces. Joceline got started first, so here she is so far. She will be getting an expander put in since her mouth isn't quite big enough for her adult canine teeth to come in. She picked red & green brackets...like a Christmas tree in her mouth! Jasmine will most likely get hers started next week...stay tuned!

2nd Grade Music Program at GES

Last night was Alyssa & Jasmine's 2nd grade music program at school.
Here is Jasmine performing her solo from the song, "Do Re Mi", from the Sound of Music.

Here is Jasmine's class on the stage...she is 3rd from left on the front row.

Alyssa had a duet with one of her best friends, Jessica. They composed their own song for the No Place for Hate pledge.

Here is the entire 2nd grade. Jasmine's class is on the left side of the stage, and Alyssa's is on the right side. The middle group are the other two 2nd grade classes.

Fishing with Gran

While in Cincinnati visiting my mom, we did some fishing in the pond at the front of the complex where she lives.
My gorgeous girl, Joceline.

Always ready to pose on command, Alyssa, the beautiful.

The sign for the fitness center (and pool), which Gran has yet to check out...maybe soon! Part of the appeal of this complex to my mom was the campground-like signs and woods.

The pond is home to a pair of geese. The momma goose is sitting on an egg or two.

Joceline...crazy brain!

Silly girls!

The pro showing them how it's done!!

Just about ready...

Joceline was the only one to catch a fish that day...a small sunny!

Ready to cast!

Visit to Cincinnati

For Easter this year, we went to Cincinnati to visit my mom. One of the things we did was go to the Newport Aquarium just over the border in KY.

2 large sludge suckers...the left one was there first, and then the right one joined in. Right after I took this shot, they both moved away.

It was one of the shark's birthday while we were there...her name is Sweet Pea. The girls got to make hats to celebrate.

Shark!!

Jellies!

Here are some of the birds in the rainforest exhibit.

Gran and the girls.

Our family in front of the giant squid picture.

All of us outside...the area is called Newport on the Levee. John is in his new Reds shirt!

Our Little Guest

Some of you know we found a stray cat last week. He was in need of some medical attention, so we took him to our vet and had him taken care of. This past Sunday we took him to PetSmart in Collegeville and placed him with Stray Cat Blues, a rescue organization. He was very friendly, and of course Joceline and Jasmine were especially sad that we couldn't keep him. He should have no problem finding a good home.

Blizzards of 2010

Here are some more shots of the girls & Richter trying to navigate the over 2 feet of snow we received in February.
